Twinlets baptism

We booked the church for the baptism waaaaaaay back when I was still pregnant. Then 4 weeks ago we realised we had 4 weeks to go and nothing started, eep!! What’s a busy mumma to do when under a time crunch? Hit the internet 😉 I decided on a blue white and brown theme and decided I liked elephants. My friend Emma at Little Cherry Tree Designs designed these beautiful invitations:

Then came the gown dilemma, I’d made the gown Jack and Lewis were baptised in and I couldnt’ very well have one in a handmade gown and one in something mass produced. Nor did I want to spend a fortune on a handmade gown made by someone else. So that left me making the gown.

I had a brilliant idea of sewing little silver alphabet charms to the collar of their gowns. Brilliant. well, this morning as we were getting into the car to go to the church I remembered the charms, I hadn’t done them! We had decided to dress the babies in their gowns once we got to the church rather than crushing them in the carseat. So the car ride to the church was spent with me quickly sewing charms onto their collars. Oops.

For once we were actually organised early and I got Thommo to take some photos of the details I’d put so much time and effort into (into procuring from the internet that is):

Kate over at Cupkates had a nerve racking few days while waiting for me to recieve the most stunning cake toppers EVER in the mail. How talented is she??

We had little organza bags filled with a chocolate heart and Hershey’s Kisses as favours.  Emma designed a thank you tag to match the invites:

The service was beautiful, Oliver fed through the first 10 minutes or so then happily slept, Sebastian slept through most of it except for a brief attempt to be a Mr Cranky Pants, but he decided he was too sleepy to follow it through.  Oliver was baptised first:

Then it was home to celebrate, with lots of food, family and friends.  Thommo gave a speech:

We opened an incredible amount of presents, so spoilt, we ate cake, we chatted, we laughed, we loved.  We farewelled our guests and then it was time for lots of this (the space in the middle was mine):

We are so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends to share this journey with, to have with us to celebrate the special days like today.  On such an amazing loved up high at the moment (or is the exhaustion?).
