DIY Friday: Butterfly wishes

I first spotted this gorgeous coat when 2 Little Hooligans reviewed the Me Sew Crazy pattern and I knew I HAD to make it. Sweet front, small pleats at the shoulders, big pockets…But the best bit is the back.

Wings and ruffles. What more does a girl need in a coat?? The pattern comes together beautifully, clear, easy to follow instructions. I’ve made 2 so far as gifts, both out of cord, lined in silky satin and the contrast in quilters cotton, buttons covered to match.

The red is my favourite. Look at those ruffles.

My only issue with this pattern is that it doesn’t come in MY size. I’d love to flutter about in butterfly wings and ruffles, wouldn’t you?

  1. I love that first version, with the grey and flowers. So cute!!! I am so happy that you like the way it came out, and more importantly – that your niece likes it! Thanks so much for sharing!
