TV reduction challenge

At the moment our tv is on way too much. We have it on for background noise pretty much all day long. The 2 boys know how to turn it on and Jack is starting to work out the Foxtel remote. Not great for 2 toddlers.

The tv became a habit of mine when Jack was a wee baby. He ignored the tv until he was about 18 months and it kept me company during the day. Then he discovered the Wiggles and I had a newborn and suddenly, the tv became a fantastic way to distract him. It gave me a break. It was the easy way at a tough time but it became a habit, one that is proving hard to break.

So our goal for April is cut tv viewing right back. Perhaps one short show in the morning and 1 in the afternoon for the kids. Wish me luck!

how are you going with this? We’ve always been a minimal TV household, but I too have gotten lazy since having S. It’s almost to the point where I don’t care if it dies as it’ll save me throwing it out the window! Amazing how much TV affects our lives..
